Fresh out of management school (Goa Institute of Management) Jerry Matthew conceived a ‘killer innovation’ to establish Goa’s first helpline. Pyramid was convinced of the commercial viability and funded this entrepreneurial venture at low margins. Today Hello Group has ramped up to being a 350-seater Call Center across Goa and Pune. This is what Jerry had to say on funding from PFL.

“It was in the year 1998 that a group of three young guys just passing out from Goa Institute of Management thought of starting Goa’s first helpline “Hello”. Equipped with our degrees and a concept and literally just Rs. 15000 we approached practically every bank and financial institution in Goa, but were shown the door. That’s when we thought of approaching Mr. Hede from Pyramid Finance. We got an appointment on the first go and on the first meeting itself he gave a go ahead and funded us the project. A relationship thus started 11 years ago has been fruitful till date. From expanding from a small helpline to being a 350 seater call center based across Goa and Pune and being one of the leading media houses today in Goa, Pyramid Finance and Mr. Hede has been with us throughout.
